It also has a melting point between 62 and 65 degrees Celsius and is pliable at 38 degrees Celsius.

WHAT IS BEESWAX USED FOR?

Beeswax is one of the most versatile natural products you can have at home nowadays. As previously mentioned, they are secreted by honey bees in building honeycombs. This makes them a completely natural substance.

It is composed of esters, fatty acids, and more. As such, it can be reused for as many times possible as it does not easily spoil and become rancid. The wax itself comes with different colours including almost white, bright yellow, dark yellow, and light amber.

In candle making, beeswax has already built its reputation as an excellent key ingredient in most luxurious candles. They burn longer than other regular ingredients such as candelilla, paraffin and soy wax, and can be used up to 7 hours. Its naturally sweet-smelling characteristic makes it a good essential to create a relaxing atmosphere. Perfect for use in aromatherapy applications!

In skincare, beeswax is commonly used as a thickening agent, binder, emulsifier, emulsion stabiliser, emulsifying surfactant, skin-conditioning agent, and humectant. These applications may sound technical but these are actually present in most cosmetic products such as face moisturisers, body lotions, and makeup. Aside from that, it also works to soothe skin issues and allows it to breathe without clogging the pores.

As we all know, clogged pores are the often the cause of many skin impurities. It is full of dirt, sebum, and dead skin cells that accumulate over time. To prevent this, it would be best to cleanse it and look for safer and healthier products.

Be advised that when it comes to producing makeup products, make sure to use it properly by following the manufacturer’s recommended usage. Continued use may promote a soothed, moisturised-looking skin.

As a new mum I have recently started making my own moisturizers and creams for bub. Love the beezwax pellets, I actually like the smell, I don’t even use essential oils with some of the products I make as I quite like the natural earth scent.

I've found the same smell, fermented. Very disappointed. Will buy elsewhere next time, as I go through a lot. >>>>>N-essentials Team – 25 Jun 2018 Our current batch of beeswax is BP grade ie it meets the British Pharmacopeia Standards. We don’t think the smell is that overpowering but if it doesn’t suit your purposes, fair enough. The previous comment about the fermented smell came from a different batch of a different country of origin from a different supplier. Over the years, we’ve stocked different batches from different suppliers as we take heed of customers’ comments and try to cater for everyone needs. On a side note, you’ve been a loyal customer with us for the last 6 years and continually buy from us nearly every 3 months – thank you! We have noted though that you’ve given us 2 negative reviews but absolutely no positive reviews at all!
