WHAT IS ALOE VERA GEL?

This is a new formulation from N-essentials that doesn't contain alcohol. With this conventional version, its preservation system is maintained, by way of safe levels of phenoxyethanol and Ethylhexylglycerin and potassium sorbate, but with the added benefit of no alcoholic smell. The organic formulation of aloe vera gel uses ethanol as a preservative (at a level that was not drying on the skin) that gives the product an alcoholic smell. This smell isn't a desired characteristic in some end-use skincare products.

Aloe Vera Powder is extracted from the hollow inner leaf of the Aloe plant and is freeze-dried to create a powder. It is soluble in water and is a popular ingredient in the manufacture of cosmetics.

ALOE VERA GEL BENEFITS

It's no surprise that aloe vera gel has long been acknowledged as the best natural product to enhance skin appearance without leaving an oily residue. Therefore, if you're seeking to incorporate a lightweight ingredient to enhance your moisturiser, aloe vera gel may be a suitable option. Aloe vera gel gently exfoliates and won’t irritate your skin, making it an indispensable part of your skincare regimen.

ALOE VERA GEL FOR SKIN

Aloe vera, scientifically known as Aloe barbadensis, is a succulent plant belonging to the Aloe genus, characterised by its dense, fleshy, serrated, and lanceolate green-grey leaves. While originating from the Arabian Peninsula, it thrives in tropical and arid climates worldwide.

The triangular leaves of each aloe vera plant consist of three layers, with the innermost layer housing a transparent gel comprising 99% water and around 75 potentially active constituents.

This inner leaf gel is extracted from the rind either mechanically or manually, then cold-pressed to retain its active properties. The gel is clear, without odour or taste, and devoid of any leaf skin or yellow portions.

Containing over 95% water, aloe vera gel is widely utilised to enhance skin appearance for many individuals.

ALOE VERA GEL FOR HAIR

Dry hair is a common issue for many individuals. Unfortunately, supermarket shampoos and conditioners often contain artificial ingredients that offer little assistance. Aloe vera gel, however, contains natural ingredients that could enhance the appearance of hair strands. Dry hair can also lead to flakes on the scalp. Incorporating aloe vera gel into your shampoos can help give your hair a clean appearance.

Naturally, before generously applying aloe vera gel to your scalp and hair, it's essential to conduct a patch test to ensure you don't experience any adverse reactions. Simply take a small amount of aloe vera gel and apply it to your skin. Leave it for 24 hours—if you don't develop any irritation, it should be safe for use on your hair. If you have any doubts, consult a medical professional before proceeding. Please note that aloe vera gel is only for topical application and should not be ingested.

WHEN SHOULD YOU NOT USE ALOE VERA GEL?

ALLERGY OR SENSITIVITY

Some individuals may be allergic or sensitive to aloe vera. Signs of an allergic reaction can include redness, rash, swelling, itching, or burning sensation upon application. It's recommended to perform a patch test on a small area of skin before using it more broadly, especially on the face.

SEVERE BURNS OR WOUNDS

It should not be applied to open, deep, or severe wounds. In such cases, medical treatment should be sought, as applying aloe vera might interfere with the healing process or lead to infection.

OVER BROKEN SKIN

Applying aloe vera gel on broken or severely damaged skin can potentially cause irritation or delay healing. It's best to allow the skin to heal before applying aloe vera to avoid any adverse reactions.

WITH CERTAIN SKIN CONDITIONS

Although aloe vera is a gentle product, it's essential to consult with a dermatologist before using it, as it may not be suitable for everyone and could potentially exacerbate certain conditions.
