WHAT IS ROSEMARY OLEORESIN EXTRACT?

Rosemary oleoresin extract is an oil-soluble herbal product derived from the Rosmarinus officinalis plant extracted in sunflower oil. It contains antioxidants and revitalising elements that work to inhibit the growth of bacteria.

Rosemary extract is commonly used in cosmetics, food preservation, cooking, herbal medicine for antibacterial and anti-inflammatory uses. It has at least 30 components demonstrated to have olfactory characteristics.

ROSEMARY OLEORESIN EXTRACT BENEFITS

Rosemary Oleoresin Extract for Skin

The elements found in rosemary oleoresin extract assist in preventing skin damage by enforcing powerful antioxidants and neutralising free radicals. Free radicals are responsible for damaging skin cells and premature aging. Rosemary oleoresin extract also works by supporting the structure and function of our skin. It helps to prevent the appearance of blemishes and wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and skin sagging.

Rosemary Oleoresin Extract for Hair

The use of rosemary oleoresin extract for your hair is surely beneficial as it nourishes the dry, irritated scalp and gets rid of dandruff. It contains powerful antioxidants that help promote healthy-looking hair and hair growth. For optimal results, mix it with carrier oils such as coconut oil or jojoba oil.

To use, blend the rosemary oleoresin extract with coconut oil, and gently apply it on your scalp. Let the antioxidants of the oils penetrate the hair for 15 minutes before washing it out with shampoo.

Furthermore, the rosemary extract oleoresin can also be used as a natural antioxidant to enhance and prolong the shelf life of oils. This is because of its properties that help delay the oxidation of fat, and bacteria that cause spoilage. As with any antioxidant, for optimal results, Rosemary Oleoresin Extract must be added to oils when they are as fresh as possible before rancidity has started to occur.

ROSEMARY OLEORESIN EXTRACT USES

Some skincare brands love to include rosemary extract in their list of ingredients due to its carnosic acid and antioxidant components. It has a calming effect on the skin, which may help mitigate several common skin issues. To name a few, here are some products that use rosemary's sublime extract:

  • Hair treatment

  • Shampoo
  • Toner
  • Facial cleanser
  • Foundation

CAUTION:  Although rosemary oleoresin extract has powerful benefits for the skin, still, it is recommended to do a skin patch test before using it.
