Mica Pearlescent Pigments are classified natural colours that have been extracted naturally and sieved of harmful impurities. Individual mica pearlescent platelets are covered with approved pigments to attain the colourant. Consisting of mica and titanium dioxide, the multi-sided colour provides a glimmering effect that works best in clear products such as clear melt-and-pour soap as the glitter needs light in order to illuminate.
Micas tend to de-clump evenly yet unsteadily in cold process soap. Titanium dioxide is a whitening, lubricating, and solidifying element supplemented to the colourant to protect the skin. The purpose of adding it is to permit a level of stability that mica cannot perform. The end result of combining mica and titanium dioxide is a pearlescent mica pigment that is equally steady and not clumpy.
This lustrous pearlescent colourant adds a look of sophistication and can be used in enhancing other colours in body care applications or other colours in several applications. Coloured cosmetics and coloured soaps are examples of using this colourant.
