HOW TO USE ACTIVATED CHARCOAL POWDER

Activated charcoal powder is used as a dry ingredient blended into masks, cleansers, soaps and scrubs. A little goes a long way, so measure small amounts and build up gradually.

DIY charcoal face mask

• 1 teaspoon activated charcoal powder
• 1 teaspoon cosmetic clay (such as kaolin or bentonite)
• 1 teaspoon vegetable glycerine
• Floral water or distilled water, enough to form a smooth paste

Mix into a spreadable paste, apply to clean skin, leave for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water and follow with a moisturiser. Use once or twice a week as the charcoal powder is extremely potent.
